BART KORMANof the Missouri House of Representatives Biography:Bart Korman was born December 20, 1975 to Charles and Patricia Korman of Montgomery City, Missouri. As a child Bart participated in many activities such as 4-H, Odyssey of the Mind, FFA and basketball. He graduated from Montgomery County R-II High School, where he served as the President of the FFA his senior year, receiving a state and national FFA degree. Also, while in high school, Bart held a variety of jobs, which included working for Prairie Milling Company Grain Elevators, a family truck garden, a hay and row crop operation and Korman Construction Company. He also found time to develop a successful lawn care business of his own.Bart set off for the University of Missouri, Columbia. At Mizzou, he was an active leader in many campus activities such as FFA and Independent Aggies. He was treasurer of the Agricultural Student Council, president of the ASAE, and vice-president of MU Shooting Team. While in Columbia, Bart worked for the City of Columbia’s Public Works Engineering Department as an Inspector and Plan Reviewer. He also interned at Anheuser-Busch in St. Louis as a Project Manager. After a busy college career, Bart graduated in 1999 with a BS in Agricultural Systems Management and a BS in Agricultural Engineering. That same year, he also graduated from the Missouri Auction School, joining the family auction business of Korman Auction Service. After graduation, Bart joined Lewis-Bade, Inc. in Warrenton, Missouri as an engineer and surveyor. While employed at Lewis-Bade, Inc. he has designed many private developments and public infrastructure projects. He has furthered his professional development with dual certification as Professional Land Surveyor and Professional Engineer. Bart has always been very involved in his community. In 2005 he was appointed as the Montgomery County Surveyor and was elected to the position again in 2008. He is currently an officer in the Warren County Rotary club and is involved with other local organizations such as the Missouri Society of Professional Surveyors, the Montgomery City Knights of Columbus. He was a former president of the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers – Central Chapter, a graduate of the Montgomery County EXCEL Leadership Program and is a long-time member of Farm Bureau and the NRA. Bart has always taken an active role serving the public and participating in the political process. He was the treasurer of the 16th Senatorial District Republican Committee, a former member of the Republican State Committee and the Warren County Young Republicans, and continues to be an active member of the Montgomery County Central Committee. Bart was also selected to represent Missouri Republicans as an alternate delegate at the 2008 Republican National Convention. Bart married Sarah (Young) Korman of O’Fallon, Missouri in 2008. They currently live near High Hill in rural Montgomery County with their three children, Wyatt, Grant and Alice. The family attends Immaculate Conception Church in Montgomery City, where they were involved with the Youth Ministry Core Group and the Immaculate Conception Catholic School Board.
